Objectives:
HP would like to reward its loyal customers who use original HP print cartridges by conducting a 4-month consumer contest and give away RM2,200,000 worth of attractive prizes including 1 Volvo XC90, 1 Hyundai Getz, 1 Honda Jazz and many more attractive prizes.
Intended to use a simple, efficient method to manage the consumer contest and draw responses from customers, HP decided to use SMS as the primary method to conduct the contest.
Campaign Details:
idotyou Mobile developed and managed the SMS campaign for HP Secret Code Contest.
The contest was opened from 15th Jan to 2nd May 2005.
Consumers need to purchase any of the participating original HP print cartridges with the secret code label on it. Customers need to scratch the label in order to obtain the 12 digit unique code.
Once done, simply SMS the unique code together with other required details like name and I/C No to HP via our short code 36655.
Customers were asked to answer 2 simple questions and a slogan to participate in the contest.
Results:
HP received more than 16,000 complete entries from the contest, and collected more than 12,000 customer databases through this campaign for future marketing purposes.
HP experienced significant growth in sales compared to the non-promotion months.
